Jon is a Kensington Investment Counsel (K.I.C.) partner and has been the Portfolio Manager and Chief Investment Officer since joining the firm in 2012. His responsibilities at K.I.C. include investment research, portfolio management, and client relations. Before joining K.I.C., Jon was a founding partner and Chief Financial Officer of Legacy Energy, L.L.C., and Nimin Energy, Inc., both oil and gas exploration and production companies. He was also a founding partner and Managing Director of M.L.H. Capital, a hedge fund management company specializing in long/short equity investing. Jon began his career in strategic planning at MasterCard and later served as a portfolio manager and Managing Director at ING Furman Selz Asset Management.
In addition to his work at K.I.C., Jon actively participates in the selection committee for the Sharpe Fellows program at U.C.L.A. He has also lectured on the Oil and Gas Industry valuation practices at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.
Jon holds a B.A. in Economics from U.C.L.A. and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He is a CFA CharterHolder.
